Britt received his break into the industry when he was hired as the youngest ever musical director by the legendary Otis Williams founder of “The Temptations” … Williams quotes Johnny Britt will forever be a part of our Motown Family. Britt toured the world and performed on countless TV shows with the group. This led to Britt being hired as the co music producer for the Emmy Award Winning TV Miniseries “The Temptations”. Britt was then hired by director Robert Townsend to be the co music producer of the critically acclaimed “Little Richard Story”.
Britt was signed to Motown/ MoJazz Records in 1995 with the group he founded the forward thinking hip hop/ jazz group Impromp2. Impromp2 would become one of the first groups that would combine hip hop and jazz on the west coast. Impromp2 would go on to record 4 albums along with appearances at The U.S. Open, Soul Train, The Olympics, The White House, The Lady of Soul Awards and more. Britt has written 3 number 1 Billboard hits for Boney James and has written for many other artists.
As a soloist in 2024 Britt received the Best Group or Duo of the Year Award for his duet with Will Downing on his hit “Butterflies” from Soul Café Radio Indie Soul Awards. In 2023 Britt would go on to receive his first number 1 Billboard hit single “After We Play” featuring Peter White from the same album.
SiriusXM Watercolors Radio’s rotation of the Johnny Britt song catalog include “Summer Nights”, “Hot Fun In The Summer” feat. Najee, MoJazzin feat. Norman Brown, The Way I Feel feat. Marion Meadows, After We Play feat. Peter White, Ocean Waves feat. Blair Bryant and Walk On By.
The 2025 release of “Midnight In Paris” marks Britt seventh studio album which he wrote, produced and performed.

*After his family finally settled in Michigan, as a young boy, Yandall fell in love with the progressive styles of Jimi Hendrix, Yes, Steely Dan, and George Benson. Attending a concert of Jeff Lorber as a young musician, was a life-changing moment and steered his vision towards jazz music. At thirteen years old, performed at nightclubs all over Michigan. Adult bars and venues. Yandall would learn to unite the heart of jazz with the flavors of rock and R&B. A summer music program in Boston & New York and attending Central Michigan University would help the guitarist to focus his talents on a jazz-funk approach. Movies and TV credits: “Run” “Fruitvale Station”, “War, Inc.” and TV shows such as “Young Sheldon” “Speechless” “New Girl” “Girls” “Shameless” “Raising Hope” “Impulse” and many more! Session guitarwork Kevin Flournoy, Darryl Walker, Will Donato, Under the Lake, Nathan Brown, Rocco Ventrella, Jarez, and many more recording artists. He’s appeared nationally in scores of major jazz festivals and contemporary jazz venues. PBS aired a special on Patrick and his music that was aired in the Midwest. His commercially released projects have charted on Billboard, and the last 4 have been in Grammy consideration in the “Contemporary Instrumental” category. *His focus has always been to create more music and improve as a guitarist, composer, producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. His music is everywhere and that has always been the goal of this serious and prolific musician! Growing up in the vibrant 70s and nurtured by her father’s vintage vinyl collection, featuring legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and the Beatles, Bo honed a remarkable vocal range and versatility that spans soul, blues, jazz standards, and country. Her musical journey began in choirs and singing groups, gradually evolving to acoustic jam sessions and ultimately forming a full-fledged band. With unmatched passion and powerhouse vocals, she has an undeniable ability to elevate any performance to new heights. Heidi Albert-Salas is our versatile saxophonist, skilled flute player, and talented backup vocalist. Heidi’s ability to seamlessly switch between instruments and add rich harmonies to our music brings a fresh and soulful dynamic to our sound.. Get ready for some seriously groovy vibes with Heidi is on board! Alexander Jed Sejera, the versatile bass player hailing from Southern California. In addition to holding down the rhythm on bass guitar, Alexander seamlessly contributes his skills to keyboards and stand-up bass within the band. A self-taught musician, he’s not only a skilled player but also a collaborator, contributing to multiple bands in the San Diego area.
Tim Orrohood is our guitarist. Tim came to us as a sub for a show, we had so much fun we welcomed him to stay, and wow! The Fun has started! Tim is an amazing guitarist who puts the extra effort in and you will be impressed! Come see how this seasoned pro fits right in and keeps the crowd rocking. Barry Farrar, Drummer. Farrar’s jazz roots run deep and he was raised in a musical family. His father, Barry Farrar Sr., was a celebrated sax player and was very active in the fertile SD jazz scene during the 50s and 60s. Barry was exposed to great jazz as a child and started playing trumpet early on and switched to drums in 6th grade. Barry had a keen interest in Jazz and studied the history of this great music and ended up joining the team at JAZZ 88.3 in 1980. His love for Miles, Coltrane, Art Blakey and the legendary jazz players keeps him excited about the music. Barry plays drums in Lower Left and was a charter member of the Jazz88 All-Stars. Barry leads The Derringers (Blues group) and The Blue Rockit band as well as doing lots of freelance work.
