I have been fortunate enough to play/tour/record with several big name artists. Mark Farner, Singer/Songwriter/Frontman of Grand Funk Railroad, CCM Recording artist Two Or More, Viva Santana, and most recently, Bobby Kimball (the Original Lead Singer of TOTO) as well as Bill Champion Singer/Songwriter, Keyboardist & Guitarist for Chicago. Other notable performances have taken me halfway around the world with Cheap Trick, Robin Trower, Blue Oyster Cult, Bachman/Turner/Overdrive, REO SpeedWagon, Edgar Winter, Carmen, Phil Keaggy & The Newsboys just to name a few. More recently, I have begun to play with a 9 piece horn band called Top Brassss, an All Star Band featuring members of Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power, Miami Sound Machine and Chicago, as well as the band Tribal Reasons.

Detroit Underground

February 11 @ 8:00 pm
Genre: Dance
$12 cover

The Detroit Underground  was established in 1994, and still has several of its original members. Over the years the band has earned the reputation for being a hard working, high energy, show band. The group features a very solid and funky rhythm section. These four seasoned players provide a solid foundation for the band’s “smokin” horns.

Topping it off are California’s best male and female lead vocalists. These two high-powered singers will light up the stage, and leave you singing their songs long after you leave the show.

This powerful combination of dedicated musicians gives the band the ability to crank out tunes from artists such as EARTH, WIND, and FIRE, CHAKA KAHN,and STEVIE WONDER. We also play great motown hits and heart-felt ballads.

The Detroit Underground is not just another nightclub act, but a complete musical experience

Ashley E. Norton is the headliner for Americana all female assigned local band, Lady Psychiatrist’s Booth, internationally touring duo, Whitherward, and solo artist. Beginning her long career in the Arizona music scene with her folk-rock band Delcoa, Ashley moved to Nashville in 2010 to pursue her love for Country music. There she hosted many successful songwriter nights, wrote hundreds of songs and worked with some of Nashville’s finest musicians and producers, including Johnny Garcia, lead guitar player for Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. Tired of working within the confines of the music industry, she left for a turn in the world of Americana and became a huge champion for independent music. Since 2014, she’s been touring the world non-stop, independently booking four successful European tours, multiple large notable music festivals and countless cross country tours. She has received endorsements with large companies such as Subaru Europe, Martin Guitars, Avian Guitars and most recently, Electro-Voice. Ashley has over a dozen studio releases, multiple official music videos, and moonlights as a co-host of the podcast, Crimes Against Folk. Her most recent release, Lady Psychiatrist’s Booth, features violinist Stephanie Groot from Whitherward and Laura Hall, music director of “Whose Line Is It Anyway.” Ashley’s live show consists of songs from all her albums plus unique versions of covers you know and love!

Float Like a Buffalo

February 23 @ 6:00 pm
Genre:
$www.ticketmaster.com cover

Float Like a Buffalo is a Denver-based 7-piece, 9-instrument, high-energy Funk Rock band. We love to get our crowds dancing at our live show parties with songs inspired by our home in Colorado, being on the road, and finding ourselves.

The band has become a regional funk sensation over the past five years, playing sold out and near-sold-out shows at major Colorado venues like Red Rocks, The Bluebird Theater, Gothic Theatre, Levitt Pavilion, and Marquis Theater – and taking the crown for Best Funk Band in Denver in Westword’s 2019 Music Awards.

In early 2019, Float Like a Buffalo released their freshman full-length album, ‘Back From Nowhere’ at a near-sold-out release party at the historic Gothic Theatre. The band followed this rocket start to the year with shows at Red Rocks (Local Set), The Marquis Theater, Levitt Pavillion, and Westword Music Showcase. In the summer of 2019, Float Like a Buffalo made their debut on the Red Rocks Main Stage as an opener for Face Vocal Band. They also received the award for Best Funk Band from Denver Westword and were listed among the Top 30 Rock Bands in Denver by 303 Magazine.  In August 2019, Float Like a Buffalo released their new single, Gone By Morning, and the Music Video to go with it, at a packed party at The Gothic Theatre.

Following that, they had the opportunity to play directly ahead of Sting at the Jazz Aspen Snowmass Labor Day Experience (sold out) and to open for Big Sam’s Funky Nation and Dragon Smoke (feat. members of Galactic and Dumpstaphunk).

Float Like a Buffalo started 2020 off with a sold-out Single Release Party at Denver’s historic Bluebird Theater and a big win at Summer Camp On the Road Tour Battle of the Bands, securing their spot at Summer Camp Music Festival later this year.

The band worked hard during quarantine, and has released a new single, “Sunday Afternoon,” which was 100% recorded, mixed and mastered by the band members in quarantine (listen here: https://spoti.fi/2X3D7R3), the music video for the single (watch here: https://bit.ly/35j1Q6d), and a new fan music video for their original song, “Stay Alive” (watch here: https://bit.ly/36zc6rT). The Band also recently completed their newest venture, The Yard Ahead Tour, a live + live-stream hybrid concert experience sponsored by Breckenridge Brewery. In October 2020, Float Like a Buffalo sold out a 2-night run of socially distanced shows at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Following that, the band also sold out two nights at The Soiled Dove Underground for their Vertigo EP Release Show. You can listen to the EP here: https://spoti.fi/2IMdwar

Darci is blessed with a powerhouse of a voice and an infectious stage presence. She radiates fun and will absorb you with the versatility of her voice. George masters the guitar with tasty licks and spot on guitar tone. Bruce’s keys bring great depth and versatility to the sound of the band. He always has two hands on two different keyboards, with the perfect patch applied. People always marvel at Michael’s drum set. Then, they hear him play and are even more impressed! The guy has some fast hands! Complimenting Michael’s drumming is Frank on Bass. He’s usually smiling and captivated by the groove.
